Prime Minister Boris Johnson will hold a coronavirus press conference tonight.
Downing Street has confirmed the press conference will take place at 6pm.
Earlier today the Financial Times reported that Mr Johnson is set to introduce so-called 'Plan B' measures to curb the spread of the Omicron coronavirus variant.
According to the reports the prime minister could announce the new measures as soon as today.

The paper said three Whitehall sources had confirmed that further measures including working from home and the use of vaccine passports in certain venues would be brought in.
The Cabinet’s Covid-19 operations (Covid-O) committee was expected to meet this afternoon to consider the next steps.
The government has so far insisted it is not time to activate its Plan B – the restrictions that would be brought in to prevent the NHS being overwhelmed this winter.
Earlier Downing Street sources told the Press Association said “no decisions have been made” over the possible imposition of fresh restrictions to combat the spread of coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister ordered an investigation into claims staff broke lockdown rules by holding a Christmas party last year and told MPs he was “furious” about leaked footage apparently showing aides laughing about it.
Allegra Stratton, who was the Prime Minister’s spokeswoman, has now resigned after the leaked clip emerged, offering “profound apologies” and saying she would “regret those remarks for the rest of my days”.
We will have all the latest updates from the press conference on our website at 6pm.
