Prime Minister Boris Johnson is in Leeds today

Prime Minister Boris Johnson is in Leeds today.

Morley and Outwood MP Andrea Jenkyns tweeted a snap of the Conservative leader on Twitter, confirming he was in the city.

The prime minister is also scheduled to visit a prison today as he pledges £100m of investment to cut crime in jails and boost security. The details of which prison he is set to tour have not been released.

The Prime Minister has vowed to cease the flow of drugs, weapons and phones flooding into prisons, in a bid to cut violence inside and ensure sentences reform and rehabilitate.

Just before 10am, Andrea Jenkyns posted a photo and tweeted: "Great reception for our Prime Minister @BorisJohnson in Leeds today."
