The Prime Minister is "appalled" by an arson attack on a mosque in East Sussex, his spokesman said today.
Two people managed to escape the Peacehaven Community Mosque in Phyllis Avenue when the front entrance and a car outside were set alight by masked thugs on Saturday night.
Sussex Police is investigating the blaze as a hate crime.
Sir Keir Starmer's official spokesman said on Monday that the PM "is appalled by the attack".
He added: "As the Home Secretary said, attacks against Britain's Muslims are attacks against all Britons and this country itself.
"He thanks the emergency services for their swift response. Anti-Muslim hatred has no place in Britain."

It comes as Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood has appealed for unity in the aftermath of the Manchester synagogue terror attack.
“At a time like this, we must stand united," she said.
“This country’s greatest strength has been its ability to build one nation from many communities."
Worshippers, including an imam, escaped after two men in balaclavas poured fuel on the steps of the building.
Images circulating online also show a torched car parked outside.
The pair are seen in CCTV stills approaching the front door, before spraying accelerant at the entrance and then igniting a fire shortly before 10pm.
Police are hunting the suspects as they investigate arson with intent to endanger life.

Detective Inspector Gavin Patch said: "This was an appalling and reckless attack which we know will have left many people feeling less safe.
“We are treating this as an arson with intent to endanger life and are continuing to pursue a number of lines of enquiry to identify those responsible.
“We are releasing images of two people we wish to speak with [...] wearing distinctive clothing.
“We believe there are people in the community who know who these two are. If you have any information, no matter how small you think it might be, we urge you to do the right thing and come forward before any further harm is caused."
