Primary school pupils wow audiences with 'Lion King' performances

Audiences at Auchinraith Primary were treated to two fabulous evenings when pupils performed The Lion King.

The words “Hakuna Matata” summed up the nights as the youngsters had “no worries” when performing to jam-packed crowds of proud parents, families and carers.

The children's performances were enthusiastic (Douglas McKendrick/Hamilton Advertiser)

Both evenings were sell-outs and the acting, singing and enthusiasm of the cast was second to none.

The shows were full of colourful scenery (Douglas McKendrick/Hamilton Advertiser)

Head teacher Julie McCulloch said: “The whole show had the audience on their feet as musical numbers such as The Circle of Life and I Just Can’t Wait To Be King raised the roof of the school.

Pupils worked really hard to make the show a success (Douglas McKendrick/Hamilton Advertiser)

“Colourful scenery, great musical accompaniment and a greatly enthusiastic cast of pupils as well as hard working staff really produced a show to be remembered. What stars!”
