Primary school pupils told to isolate after staff member tests positive for coronavirus

A Nottinghamshire school has closed a bubble due to a positive coronavirus test.

Church Vale Primary School in Church Warsop, Mansfield, confirmed a member of staff had received a positive lateral flow test result.

In a statement on Facebook posted on Wednesday, February 3, the school said it was "inevitable at some point".

They said: "We've just received confirmation of a positive lateral flow test of one of our lovely staff members in our Foundation and Key Stage 1 key worker bubble. Therefore we are closing the bubble until after half-term, pending a positive PCR test to confirm.

"Parents of children currently in the bubble are being rung in order for their child to be collected. All children who have been in the bubble will need to isolate until Saturday, February 13 - if this result turns out to be a false alarm we'll contact you all to let you know that your children no longer need to isolate.

"If you also have children in the KS2 key worker bubble, we will need you to keep your KS2 child at home too during this time."

Currently, schools are only open to vulnerable or key worker children. Prime Minister Boris Johnson said last week that he hopes schools in England can reopen from Monday, March 8.
