Primary school pupils clean up to help local environment

Primary school pupils from West Lothian did their part for the environment earlier this month by picking litter near their school.

All of St Mary’s Primary worked together to pick litter from all across Polbeth.

Julie Anne Stenhouse, class teacher for P5, said: “There’s been a lot of things in the news recently about clearing up local communities.

"P5 are currently trying to develop a piece of land and when we first went over there it was completely full of litter – so we went out and picked that.

“Then another teacher who is part of the eco-committee arranged for the whole school to go out and pick litter across all of Polbeth.

“It was a brilliant day for it and we managed to avoid the rain.”
