Primary school bubbles told to isolate for 10 days after 2 cases of Covid-19 confirmed

A Nottinghamshire primary school has had to ask children across four year groups to isolate, after two confirmed cases of Covid-19.

Two bubbles of children and staff at East Bridgford St Peter's Academy will now need to stay at home for 10 days.

A letter was sent out and published on the school's website confirming the news.

Two pupils tested positive for Covid-19 on June 7 and June 8 meaning bubbles will have to isolate until June 19 - returning to school on Monday, June 21.

The letter stated: "LKS2 (Year 3 and Year 4) and UKS2 (Year 5 and Year 6) Children and Staff to Self-Isolate.

"I am sorry to inform you that we have been informed today of two confirmed cases of COVID-19 within the LKS2 and UKS2 bubbles.

"It is now a requirement that your child stays at home and self-isolates.

"The pupils who tested positive were in school on Monday 7th and Tuesday 8th June, so your child’s self-isolation period will end after 10 days from that date – i.e. they will no longer be required to isolate from Saturday 19th June.

"All children will return to school – as long as they are symptom free – on Monday 21st June."

The school remains open for other bubbles.
