Primark women's knicker pest banned from store for a year

A man has been banned from a shopping centre for a year after he was caught trying on women's knickers in a Primark store in Cumbria.

The man, who has not been identified, has been described by police as a "prolific anti-social behaviour offender”, was caught trying the pants on over his clothes in the shop in Carlisle, Cumbria.

He was slapped with a 12-month ban from the store and The Lanes Shopping Centre in the town.

The ban was handed out following the incident at the Primark store in English Street, in the centre of Carlisle.

It follows "weeks" of anti-social behaviour targeting the store.

A spokesperson for Cumbria Police in Carlisle resorted to a series of pants puns and said: "It has been a pants morning for one prolific city centre offender.

"The young male has been causing anti-social behaviour in Primark over the past couple of weeks hence why he has been given the ban.

"One of the incidents involved the young male trying on women’s knickers over his clothing in the store.

"This g-string of anti-social behaviour offences has consequences."
