Primark shoppers in stitches over glaring error in Cookie Monster PJ post

High street giant Primark has left shoppers in stitches thanks to a picture of a new pyjama set.

The £11 PJs sent Instagram into a spin because of a 'hidden' detail in a photograph of them.

The pyjama set in question is based on the popular Cookie Monster character from Sesame Street - and fans couldn't help but notice a blunder in the photo.

Primark shared a snap of the light blue and white fluffy set with the caption: "Saturday morning. Cookies in bed. Cookie Monster PJ set £11/€13."

The snap has gained 64,000 likes and hundreds of comments, with many of shoppers making the same joke over one small detail that the Cookie Monster would not be impressed with.

The snap is meant to feature the character's favourite snack - chocolate chip cookies - but it looks like Primark has tried to be sneaky with a few digestive biscuits sprinkled with chocolate chips.

Needless to say, the jokes came in pretty quickly from shoppers who suggested that Primark "couldn't stretch the budget."

One shopper ignited the conversation by commenting: "That rich tea with the chocolate chips just resting on it tho…"

"Wait why couldn’t you find cookies, hurts my souls to see that combo" joked another shopper.

A third shopper asked "are Primark that cheap they couldn’t afford cookies so sprinkled chocolate chips on rich tea?"

While a fourth joked: "Who took this photo? fork out for a pack of cookies lmao."

A fifth shopper wrote: "The rich tea with choc chips resting on top look sus. don't think cookie monster would approve."

The budget chain even tried to sneakily avoid commenting on the small blunder by suggesting that shoppers meant to comment on the "hot chocolate with marshmallows."

All jokes aside, the otherwise adorable set of pyjamas certainly had its own set of fans who commented that they "needed a set for Christmas."

Quite a few shoppers chose to overlook the cookie blunder and shared comments with love hearts and heart eyes emojis to express their enthusiasm for the adorable set, says the Daily Record.

Primark's Cookie Monster Pyjamas are available in stores now.
