Primark shoppers 'fully want' £14 'show stopping' Barbie swimsuit

Primark has unveiled a host of brand new Barbie merchandise in time for the new film and fans are 'obsessed' with the vibrant, fun looks. With the Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling movie premiering later tonight in Leicester Square, shoppers have been building their own Barbie themed outfits ahead of the national release on July 21.

The budget-friendly retailer is famous for it's collabs - the Primark X Greggs Christmas collection springs to mind - and it has featured a number of Barbie products in recent years, capturing childhood nostalgia. However, fans say the 'need' the £14 neon swimming costume, identical to one Robbie styles in the film.

A one-piece suit, it features a blue and pink swirling pattern, with a scoop back and high-cut legs. Primark showcased the suit on Instagram, showing it alongside a snap of Robbie and Gosling rollerblading in the movie, as reported by the LiverpoolEcho.

Beneath the popular post, one shopper said: “Obsessed” and a second wrote they "fully want all the barbie stuff”. A third added: “holiday swimwear sorted.”

A fourth excited shopper said: “I have a very very high case of barbie fever!!” A fifth replied to a friend and wrote: “Exactly... spot on ...show stopper” and a sixth added: “not a want, a need.”

The full range is made up of 83 items and, while Barbie might be considered 'just for children', there are 33 women's items compared to 25 children's items in the collection. You might even thing the iconic doll is 'just for girls', but there is a Barbie men's range, featuring sliders, tops, shorts with the logo on.

For those inclined, you can even dress up just like Ken with a swirly pink and blue top and short combo - exactly like Ryan Gosling's blond-haired Ken.
