Primark shoppers excited about the new Stranger Things merch have been left disappointed as one popular top sold out - and turned up on eBay for ten times the price.
The budget high-street retailer dropped their latest collection inspired by the 80s Netflix hit at the end of May, but their Hellfire Club top has sold out supernaturally quick.
Originally priced at just £10, the long-sleeved top became popular after it was worn by newcomer and fan-favourite Eddie Munsen and his Dungeons and Dragons team.
The Mirror reports that the top has become such a hit with shoppers that some of them have struggled to get their hands on one and even likened it to "the PS5 scenario all over again".
Shoppers who have managed to bag the fan favourite tops have taken advantage of their notoriety and began flogging them on eBay - with some asking for up to £150.
A quick check online has shown that a UK size medium has sold out in nearly all Scottish stores, with the exception being the Stirling branch. Shoppers looking for a large may have more luck, but the item is still low in availability in Dundee, Perth and Edinburgh.
However, there are far more red crosses than green ticks, as further illustrated by various fruitless shopping outings recounted via social media.
It appears tackling The Mind Flayer himself may well be a far less arduous task than tracking down this particular clothing item.
One person tweeted: "Trying to get the Stranger Things Hellfire Club T-Shirt in Primark is literally the PS5 scenario all over again. It’s sold out everywhere."
Another lamented: "Every Primark in my whole county is sold out of Hellfire Club t-shirts. Please tell me what I've done to deserve this."
A third fed-up person said: "Trying to explode everyone who got a Hellfire Club shirt with my mind. I raced down at seven this morning to my fourth Primark and nothing."
A number of others have claimed to have seen their sizes in stock at their local store after checking online, only to find out this wasn't the case after actually getting there.
Meanwhile, eBay sellers are profiting off such frustrations, with one size small top going for a whopping £150.
According to the listing: "From a smoke-free, pet-free home. This has been packed and stored ready for delivery. Will be posted first class recorded delivery.
It comes just after the coveted Primark x Greggs collaboration also sold out in record time and turned up on eBay for prices over £100 for one item.
