Primark shares updated rules for customers as Wales moves to alert level zero

Primark has responded to the latest Welsh Government update, which saw the country move into alert level zero at 6am on Saturday, August 7.

Almost all coronavirus restrictions have been lifted, although there are still mandatory rules in place. You can read the things you still can't do as Wales enters alert level zero here.

One of those rules is face coverings, which will remain a legal requirement on public transport and in shops.

It means those heading to Primark will still need their face coverings when heading to their local high-street store.

The shop, which has eight branches across Wales, located in Cardiff, Newport, Cwmbran, Llandudno, Wrexham, Llanelli, Swansea and Broughton, has reacted to the latest announcement.

A Primark spokesperson told WalesOnline: "We want our customer and colleagues to continue to feel safe in our stores, and in line with government guidelines, customers and colleagues will still be required to wear face coverings in-store.

"We will also continue to offer hand sanitisation stations, have Perspex screens up at our tills and operate an enhanced cleaning programme, to help keep everyone safe."

It comes after the major supermarket chains reminded Welsh customers to wear a face covering in store, unless they are expempt, and updated their rules on social distancing.
