Primark 'set to trial online shopping' - and it could help you get best bargains

Primark is brilliant when it comes to filling your wardrobe with the latest trends and styles without breaking the bank.

But unlike pretty much every other shop, you can't browse the latest bargains from the comfort of your sofa in your PJs and you actually have to go into the store.

This often leaves some people rather frustrated, especially as many of their great items aren't available at every store.

So people will be delighted to hear that things could be changing in the future, and Primark is reportedly considering setting up an online shopping service.

Customers would be able to reserve and buy items online and then pick them up at their local store.

So it's not quite the same as having things delivered to your front door, but it's a step in the right direction.

According to Davy, Primark's chief executive Paul Marchant has said bosses are looking into the possibility.

Speaking to a group of analysts he reported said the service was "on the horizon", reports the Sun .

But before you get too excited, another source has said the service is still "a year or so away".

It's been a busy few months for the company as the world's biggest Primark opened in Birmingham earlier this year to the delight of fans.

The £70 million branch has taken over a former shopping centre - covering a staggering 161,000 sq ft over five floors.

The store also offers the opportunity to donate "pre-loved" clothes and shoes - of any brand - for recycling and there's a custom lab where people can print personalised T-shirts.

Primark’s retail director for the UK & Northern Europe Simon Gibbs said: "Primark is proud to be a part of the fabric of Birmingham.

"We've been in this great city since 2002 and have witnessed its incredible transformation, including the opening of the Bullring in 2003 and Grand Central in 2015.

"The opening of Birmingham High Street gives us the opportunity to bring our flagship product range and the very best of Primark to our customers in this vibrant and diverse city, which is something we have wanted to do for many years."
