Primark set to open tenth Northern Ireland store in Craigavon

Primark is close to committing to open a new store in Northern Ireland.

It will soon commit to opening its tenth NI store at Rushmere Shopping Centre in Craigavon, the Belfast Telegraph reports.

It's understood the retailer is close to signing up for a 31,000 square foot space at Rushmere.

The closure of Debenhams at the shopping centre has left an 82,000 sq ft gap.

It's claimed with a deal on a lease likely, work on the new store could begin next summer.

Primark and Rushmere did not wish confirm the talks between both.

A Primark spokesperson said: “As we operate under a public company, we do not comment on speculation around new store openings.”

A spokesman for Rushmere Shopping Centre added: “We are experiencing strong demand in enquiries and are in continued discussions with a number of retailers and hospitality businesses keen to locate within one of Northern Ireland’s most successful retail destinations.”
