Primark release statement on Northern Ireland stores as English ones plan to open for 24 hours

Primark has said it will "review" the opening hours of its Northern Ireland stores after some in England are to open for 24 hours.

On December 2, it is set to open 11 of its English stores for 24 hours in order to give customers more time to do their festive shopping.

The retailer has also said that it will look to extend the opening hours at all other stores across the country where possible.

Primark chief executive Paul Marchant said: "We are delighted to re-open our stores in England on 2 December, with longer shopping hours to give our customers more time to safely do their festive shopping.

"We have everything this season that our customers expect from Primark, including our famous Christmas jumpers, festive pyjamas and much, much more."

In Northern Ireland, the stores closed from Friday for two weeks as part of a circuit breaker lockdown aimed at reducing coronavirus cases, but the discount retailer has said it will review the opening hours of its shops here before reopening again on December 11.

A Primark spokesperson said: "We are reviewing our store hours in Northern Ireland and will provide further details closer to re-opening later in December."
