Primark on whether it's having a Black Friday sale when stores reopen in December

Black Friday is now just a matter of days away, and some of the shops which are open are getting ready to sell some amazing discounts.

Retailers like Asda, Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsbury's have all announced they will be offering some brilliant deals to shoppers both in stores and online.

Other non-essential retailers like Currys, Argos and Matalan will all be launching deals for online shoppers, as stores are not permitted to open until lockdown lifts on December 2.

For non-essential retailers without websites like Primark, though, taking part in Black Friday will not be possible, as stores won't be open to customers on the day.

We asked Primark if it has any plans to launch a Black Friday sale in its stores when they reopen in England.

A Primark spokesperson told Manchester Evening News: "Primark doesn’t hold seasonal sales because we offer amazing fashion at amazing prices all year round."

There is some good news, though, as Primark has said it plans to extend its opening hours for Christmas shoppers in December.

A spokeswoman for Primark said: "Associated British Foods Plc are calling for extended trading hours for Primark stores once they re-open in December."

M&S has also confirmed longer trading hours - which will apply on December 21, 22 and 23 and applies to 400 of its stores - around two-thirds of its operation in England.

Primark to be open 24 hours a day after lockdown

Sacha Berendji, M&S’s Retail, operations and property director said: "We want our customers to be able to shop with confidence this Christmas, which means supporting social distancing in our stores and minimal queueing outside as the weather gets colder.

"To help with this, we’ll be operating our longest ever opening hours just before Christmas.

"Along with the wider industry, we continue to ask for Sunday trading hours to be extended to help us increase our capacity to serve everyone safely this festive season."
