Shopping for sustainable or vegan has traditionally meant spending more.
But this week Primark has launched a vegan skincare range which allows you to create a cruelty-free skincare regime for little more than £10.
The range is called 'PS… Naturals' and it consists of five skincare products: a balm to oil cleanser, a daily moisturiser, a face wash, an overnight mask and face wipes.
Last year Primark was given Cruelty Free International’s prestigious Leaping Bunny accreditation for all its cosmetic products. The recognisable bunny logo means that all Primark’s cosmetics are officially gluten free.
All the products in the PS… Naturals range are not only cruelty-free (meaning they’re not tested on animals), but they’re also vegan (they don’t contain any products derived from animals) and every product in the range displays the Vegan Society’s Sunflower trademark.
They’re are all priced between £1.50 and £3 and are made using 90 per cent natural ingredients, such as organic coconut water and Australian Kakadu plum.
There are also six accompanying accessories, including an exfoliating mitt, wooden body brush, a body sponge, exfoliating discs, a back exfoliator and a wooden nail brush, all made using FSC certified wood sourced from sustainably managed forests. There are also cotton pads made from organic cotton.
The Vegan Society celebrated on Facebook that the range was "both affordable and widely accessible."
“Many of our customers are looking for products made with more natural ingredients to match their lifestyles,” said a spokesperson for the low cost retailer. “We’re excited to provide even more choice for people looking for affordable cosmetics on the high street that not only perform well but are vegan too.”
