Primark is giving away free hand sanitiser at the tills.
It is understood that the high-street giant ordered too much stock in the pandemic.
Shop staff are now giving away complimentary gels, mists and creams to paying customers.
One shopper at the Manchester branch left with an orange-flavoured hand mist (usually £1.50), another was gifted an aloe vera gel (marked as £1), and a third left with a small bottle of 'cleansing' sanitiser on a keychain clip (priced at £1.50).
All three were well in the use-by date of July 2023.
Primark have been contacted for a comment.
