Primark finally speaks out after shoppers beg for online shopping

Primark fans love the store for its cut price clothing and homeware but are united by the same frustration - the retailer still doesn’t offer online shopping.

Shoppers have called for the brand to go online for many years, but the lockdowns of the last 10 months have increased this demand, with customers unable to get their fix whenever non-essential shops have been forced to close.

Previously, Primark finance chiefs have insisted going online simply wouldn’t work for the retailer’s business model and now the store has spoken out again, reports MEN.

This week, Primark posted on its Twitter account saying: "If you could choose, what would be your dream Primark collab for 2021?”

While some people answered the question, others used it as a chance to tell Primark what they really want from the retailer.

One person said: "How about online shopping like the rest of the world. Why are do you still refuse to do this. Shops are closed so everyone goes online you are losing out."

Primark replied, but it wasn’t what anyone wanted to hear: "We will pass your suggestion on, but we have to tell you David, an online store is not in our plans!"

Another follower said: "Primark X online shopping so my high risk disabled 23 year old can shop without leaving the house, she's been in once with her Dad, she needed to & said it felt safe but I think we'd all like if she could just order online, she only shops at Primark or Little Mix's merch website."

Primark then replied: "Hi Amanda, it is not in our plans unfortunately. Stay safe."

The demands kept coming: "Please make your clothes available online!!!" someone else said.

Once again, Primark replied, saying: "Hi Jack, we don’t offer online shopping, but we thank you your suggestion!"

Perhaps one day.
