Primark explains rules for shoppers in England from Monday

Masks will no longer be a legal requirement in shops in England from Monday, July 19 - Freedom Day.

But as coronavirus restrictions are lifted, the end of lockdown does not mean the end of face coverings.

Most supermarkets in the country have said they will expect customers and staff to keep wearing masks.

And a number of transport providers will also ask passengers to keep wearing masks.

Now Primark has revealed what its plans are for Monday.

Speaking to MEN, a Primark spokesman said: "We want our customers and colleagues to continue to feel safe in our stores.

"Even though it will no longer be a legal requirement, we hope that people will continue to think of others and wear a face covering if they can.

"Across all of our stores in England we will continue to offer hand sanitisation stations, have Perspex screens up at our tills and operate an enhanced cleaning programme, to help keep everyone safe."
