Primark Bristol opening hours extended from April 12 lockdown easing

Bristol's Primark store will be opening for longer than usual once lockdown restrictions ease, the company has announced.

The shop, which lies on the Horsefair in Broadmead, is permitted to open from April 12, after prime minister Boris Johnson confirmed on Easter Monday that next week's easing of lockdown will continue as planned. Now, the chain has confirmed the times it will open its stores.

Bristol's Primark branch will be open at 7am until 8pm each weekday for its first week back open, up from the usual times of 9am - 8pm. That's two whole extra hours to get our shopping fix after months of being unable to grab Primark's latest gear.

On Saturday April 17, the store will be open from 8am to 8pm - meaning one added hour to shop.

Primark says these new hours will be in place only for its first week back open, at least "initially" - which suggests this could change.

Shoppers can expect to see Primark's new spring/summer range, which includes "bright leisurewear in spring pastels, as well as some exciting new collaborations with Disney and Pineapple".

The government recently announced it would let shops stay open for longer - until 10pm from Monday to Saturday - when lockdown lifts in order to facilitate social distancing.

The move is designed to ease transport pressures and help people avoid peak shopping times if they wish to do so. It should also help retail to recover after being forced to close under lockdown restrictions.

Primark CEO Paul Marchant said: "It's great to be back. Our stores are fully stocked with fresh new season fashion, all at Primark's famous amazing prices.

"Between our great value, everyday must-haves and hot new season trend collections, we’ve got everything our customers have been waiting for.

"Safety remains at the front of our minds. We have extended opening hours across almost all of our stores to help meet demand safely but we’re also asking our customers to keep up the support and spirit they showed last year, particularly if queuing outside or in-store."
