Earlier this year Primark announced they would be opening 19 new stores in the next financial year with fans of the retailer speculating on where the new stores could open.
There has been talk of Primark moving to Cribbs Causeway, although at the expense of their Broadmead branch, since last year.
However, nothing has ever come to fruition and now the budget fashion giant has confirmed their next store opening will be in Tamworth, just a short drive from the biggest Primark in the world, in Birmingham reports Birmingham Live .
It follows months upon months of rumours and question marks but Primark has officially signed the lease and will be coming to Ventura Park, rumoured to be the old Matalan store next door to where Matalan is now, with more information on when and where to come in the near future.
Following yet more rumours on social media, Jennifer Foley, corporate PR co ordinator, said: “Primark has signed the lease for a new store in Ventura Park, Tamworth.
“We will share further details in due course.”
A spokesperson added Primark will “announce the opening date locally well in advance".
