Primal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie 'loves Celtic FC more than his wife'

Primal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie has revealed how he loves Celtic FC more than his WIFE.

The 58-year-old Loaded singer married stylist wife Katy England in 2006 and the couple have two teenage sons together, Wolf and Lux.

However, the singer - who was the drummer in The Jesus and Mary Chain before setting up Primal Scream - said this weekend that his ‘greatest love’ was Celtic FC.

Asked to reveal his ‘greatest love of his life’, the singer, who was born in Glasgow, said: “Noel Gallagher once said to me ‘Women come and women go, but your football team is for ever’, so it has to be Celtic FC.”

He was also quizzed about what his ‘most disliked’ about himself, telling Weekend mag: “I am a lead singer, I love myself - at least on the outside.”

The footy fanatic also admitted he cried for ‘three days’ when Diego Maradona died last year.

Asked when he last cried, he said: “When Maradona died, I cried for three days.”

It's not the first time that Bobby has declared his love for football and in particular The Hoops.

Asked by a French TV magazine two yeas ago about his biggest fear he replied: ""My biggest fear? Glasgow Rangers winning the Champions League."

After sniggering, he added: "No chance of that."

The singer also posted up a piece of art by fellow Celtic fan and Glasgow artist Chrismark Gascon on his Twitter last year.

He said of the work: "Oh oh oh it’s magic you know, gonna be 9 in a row."
