Pride of Britain viewers 'sobbing' as adorable Harmonie Rose is surprised by BGT stars

Viewers of the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards were left in floods of tears as adorable Harmonie Rose was surprised by her favourite Britain's Got Talent and Masked Singer stars.

Quadruple amputee Harmonie-Rose accepted a Child of Courage Pride of Britain Award at the ceremony, which aired this evening on ITV.

Harmonie-Rose was just 10 months old when she was rushed to hospital in a critical condition with meningococcal septicaemia.

It had damaged her legs, arms and the tip of her nose, leaving surgeons with no choice but to amputate.

As well as enduring more than 10 operations, the seven-year-old has excelled at sports and raised more than £100,000 for charity.

Appearing on stage this evening while talking to host Carol Vorderman, Harmonie-Rose sparkled in her gold fairytale dress and glittery headband.

Earlier, Harmonie had met Ed Sheeran, but she was also surprised when she was able to meet more of her favourite stars.

Carol said: "I know two of your favourite television shows are Masked Singer and Britain's Got Talent."

"Yes," Harmonie-Rose nodded firmly.

"So, from the Masked Singer we have Joel Dommet," Carol said. "And from Britain's Got Talent we've got Alesha Dixon and Simon Cowell!"

Harmonie Rose looked gasped in shock as the stars walked out to say hello to her.

Simon told her: “This is the most important award in the world and I’m so thrilled you are going to have it. I believe your motto is, ‘If you can believe you can…’” and Harmonie-Rose chipped in: “Achieve!"

After leaving the stage, she said she was going to put her Pride of Britain award in her bedroom next to her gym trophies, adding that she would like to add “an Oscar” to the shelf.

Alesha added: “Harmonie-Rose makes you realise that whatever challenges you have you can overcome them and do it with joy.”

Viewers at home were reaching for the tissues after watching the tender moment and took to Twitter to comment.

One person posted: "Okay, I lasted 6 minutes. Harmonie-Rose and Ed Sheeran tipping me over the edge, what an inspirational little girl #PrideofBritain."

A second tweeted: "Bloody hell Pride of Britain just started and I’m already in tears #PrideOfBritain."

At third person wrote: "Watching @PrideOfBritain and I'm in tears already #prideofbritain," while a fourth added: "10 mins in and #PrideofBritain has already got me in tears. Love this little girl's attitude! Never give up!"
