The Pride of Britain Awards are back on television this week dedicated to honouring the nation's heroes.

The ceremony, now in its 23rd year, has been taking place annually since 1999 in association with The Prince’s Trust. It features famous faces such as celebrities and politicians attending to offer their support.

Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s event, from the broadcast date to the voting categories.

What is Pride of Britain?

The Pride of Britain Awards ceremony annually celebrates the accomplishments of ordinary individuals, who make extraordinary contributions to society. It is sponsored by Trustee Savings Bank (TSB) and the Daily Mirror.

When is Pride of Britain 2022 and how can you watch it?

The ceremony, which took place on Monday, October 24, will air on ITV at 8pm on Thursday October 27.

You can also watch the show live online or catch up with it later using the ITV Hub.

Hosted by Ashley Banjo and Carol Vorderman, the event was held at London’s Grosvenor House. Vorderman has hosted the event every year since 1999.

She said: “We’ll have 12 incredible winners again this year, but it’s difficult for the judging panel because we have thousands of nominations and everyone on the shortlist could easily win.”

The likes of David Beckham, Mel B, Michael Sheen, Sir Mo Farah, Sir Rod Stewart, Dame Joan Collins and Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne attended the event.
