Pride 2021: NI's biggest gay nightclub no longer opening for weekend

Northern Ireland's biggest gay venue will no longer be opening for Pride this year.

Kremlin in Belfast was initially expected to reopen for the celebration on Saturday, July 31.

But with less than a week to go, staff revealed why the venue will now remain closed.

A statement from management on Monday, July 26 said: "It is with a very heavy heart that this year we have decided that this year, Kremlin will not open as planned on Pride night.

"We are going to wait on a date when we can reopen Kremlin, all singing all dancing and all guns blazing."

While the news will be disappointing for many, Kremlin staff will be helping out at other venues in Belfast where those looking to celebrate can head this weekend.

The statement said: "We will however be putting all of Kremlin resources into operation to support Union Street Bar & The Street Party on Pride Day!

"So we encourage you all to come down and join us at our sister venue for a day of celebration and fantastic entertainment.

"Wishing you all a safe and happy Pride 2021."
