Priciest ticket for '20 Games is 300,000 yen for opening ceremony

The most expensive tickets for sale for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games will be 300,000 yen for the opening ceremony, according to the tax-inclusive price range announced Friday by the organizing committee of the Games.

The highest price among tickets for actual competition events will be 130,000, yen which will likely be for the day of the men's 100-meter sprint final. Over a half of all tickets will be sold at 8,000 yen or less.

Tickets with a special price tag of 2,020 yen will be available at all competition events for those visiting in groups with disabled people, children 12 or younger, or the elderly 60 or over.

The tickets will go on sale next spring on a special website.
