Priceless fishing moment captured on video

The moment Ke’mari Cooper learned he had just landed the biggest largemouth bass he’s ever caught is no doubt precious, but when he releases it, the adorable factor goes off the charts.

Ke’mari, who has some serious fishing skills and shows them off on his own YouTube channel, is captured on video setting the hook on a big bass and fighting it while his father, identified by WJXT as Velt Cooper of Quincy, Fla., documents the catch.

“This is like a 5- or 6-pounder,” Ke’mari says in the video of the catch shown below. “He’s gotta be 6 [pounds].”

As his father puts the bass on the scale, Ke’mari says “It’s got to be 6 [pounds] on the money. What is it?”

As the numbers on the scale settle, his father starts repeating, “Is this your personal best, is this your personal best?”

The scale reads 7 pounds, 1 ounce. His previous best, according to a video in August, was 6 pounds, 15 ounces.

When his father shows him the weight, Ke’mari can’t believe it and runs up the side of the hill and throws his hat in celebration. The video ends with Ke’mari saying, “Seven-pounder? This is unreal. Thank you God for this fish.”

It’s certainly precious footage, but the video showing Ke’mari releasing the bass is hard to top.

“I knew I was going to get one today folks,” an excited and proud Ke’mari says. “Let’s put this beauty back in the water. My personal best. I hope you grow even bigger baby. Look at her y’all. She’s so big and beautiful…

“One day we gonna be back again. See ya later.”

And the unforgettable bass swam off.
