Lauren Price fights Stephanie Pineiro Aquino on a huge Easter weekend of boxing coming up.
Wales star Price defends her unified WBA, WBC and IBF women’s welterweight belts on a massive night in Cardiff, which comes just before the heavyweight showdown between Derek Chisora and Deontay Wilder, and 24 hours ahead of Caroline Dubois vs Terri Harper for the unified women’s lightweight titles in London.
The former footballer and kickboxer, an Olympic gold medalist for Team GB at Tokyo 2020, has won all nine of her fights since turning professional in 2022 and last appeared with a comfortable points win over long-time rival Natasha Jonas at the Royal Albert Hall last summer.
She now faces WBA mandatory challenger Pineiro, the undefeated Puerto Rican southpaw with a perfect 10-fight pro record who has been the WBA’s interim champion since stopping Marie Pier Houle last year and then defeating Anahi Ester Sanchez.
Price is confident of continuing that winning streak and retaining her titles on home soil as she looks to secure a blockbuster showdown at middleweight with American superstar Claressa Shields, having grown tired of chasing an undisputed fight with WBO welterweight champion Mikaela Mayer.
