A return to Nottingham Forest is said to be “unlikely” for midfielder Filip Krovinovic next season.
The 25-year-old’s future is up in the air following the end of his loan spell at the City Ground from Benfica.
It is said his parent club are keen to move him on with a permanent deal this summer, something which could rule out another link-up with the Reds.
Benfica have reportedly placed an 8m euros pricetag on his head and would prefer him to make a “definitive departure” rather than another loan switch, according to Portuguese newspaper A Bola.
They claim it is “unlikely” Krovinovic will head back to Forest, who are expected to still keep tabs on his transfer situation nevertheless.
But while there have not yet been any offers for the Croatian, it seems there is interest in him from elsewhere.
Turkish side Alanyaspor and Russian outfit Spartak Moscow have previously been linked.
And now it is reported CSKA Moscow are “evaluating” whether to make a play for the midfielder.
Krovinovic had something of a mixed spell during his time on the banks of the Trent.
Each of his 19 appearances all came in the first XI, but he struggled to help solve the Reds’ goalscoring troubles, finding the back of the net just once.
He is one of five players who have returned to their parent clubs following the end of their time with Chris Hughton’s side.
