Preview: Streakless Celtics look to get revenge on Clippers at home

The 37-16 Boston Celtics face the 37-17 Los Angeles Clippers at TD Garden at 8pm ET on Thursday night, February 13 as both teams try to get back in the win column after recent losses.

Boston, who saw the Houston Rockets snap their seven-game win streak Tuesday night, has won eight of their last ten, giving the team a near-identical record to their opponent tomorrow night.

The Clippers, who dropped their last game to a retooled Philadelphia 76ers on the same evening as Boston’s loss, have done a little worse of late with just six of their last 10 games ending with wins.

The two teams are both fairly healthy as well, with Los Angeles down just guard Patrick Beverley (groin) according to the Los Angeles Daily News’ Mirjam Swanson, and the Celtics without center Robert Williams III (hip), who should return to action soon after the All-Star break.

Boston shooting guard Jaylen Brown (calf) was kicked in the leg from behind while a bit wobbly on two recently-sprained ankles in the loss to Houston, but is listed as probable against the Clips.

The game should be a close one with each team near full strength, Boston perhaps even having the slightest advantage given how important Beverley was in securing the win for L.A. in the two team’s last meeting in November.

Most online sportsbooks favor the Clippers, but just barely — the Celtics are granted a -1 spread on average.
