Preview: Murray State at Northern Illinois

Sept. 11--Internet/radio: 2:30 p.m. Saturday; ESPN3.com, WIND-AM 560, WLBK-AM 1360.

Line: None.

Records: Murray State 1-0; Northern Illinois 1-0.

Last meeting: Northern Illinois won 49-7 on Oct. 20, 1990, at Huskie Stadium.

On the offensive: While WR Kenny Golladay had the flashiest numbers, the Huskies demonstrated versatility and balance in an opening win over UNLV with QB Drew Hare's 360 passing yards and RB Joel Bouagnon's 152 rushing yards and three TDs.

Getting defensive: The Racers feature an up-tempo spread offense that piled up 53 points and 578 yards last week against Kentucky Wesleyan. NIU's defense gave up 30 points against UNLV but just 13 in the second half and held off a final Rebels drive. The Huskies also had four sacks.

The number: 213. Nation-high receiving yards in Week 1 by Kenny Golladay, named MAC West offensive player of the week.

The talk: Tight ends are back in the Huskies attack after accounting for just one touchdown in 2014. The first two TDs of the season came on 16-yard pass plays to Shane Wimann and Desroy Maxwell.

Jack McCarthy's pick: Even if the Racers strike early, the Huskies have shown the ability to make course corrections and can wear down their FCS foe. Northern Illinois 49, Murray State 14.
