Preview: Detroit Pistons at Golden State Warriors

The 9-27 Golden State Warriors host the 12-23 Detroit Pistons this Saturday evening at 5:30 pm PT with the Warriors looking to snap a three-game slide.

The meeting, the first of two between the Pistons and the Dubs of the season, could also be an opportunity for Detroit to snap their own three-game losing streak and turn a rough stretch of their own around.

Having lost eight of their last ten games, the Motor City franchise currently sits in the East’s 11th place in the standings — still a formidable threat for the Warriors, currently in last place in the West but trending upward with four wins out of their last ten tilts.

Golden State is of course without star guards Stephen Curry (wrist) and Klay Thompson (Achilles) for the foreseeable future, joined recently by floor general D’Angelo Russell (shoulder contusion) and forward Kevon Looney (abdomen), working their way back from less serious maladies.

Center Willie Cauley-Stein (illness) is questionable to play against Detroit.

The Pistons are dealing with several injuries of their own, with forwards Blake Griffin (knee) and Markieff Morris (foot) out against the Dubs. Reserve guards Reggie Jackson (back), Luke Kennard (knee) and Khyri Thomas (foot) are also questionable for Detroit.

Even down several key players, the talent edge here tilts towards the Pistons with so many Warriors players out, reflected with an average spread of +3 by most online oddsmakers.
