Oklahoma State | TCU | Texas | Texas Tech | West Virginia
2019 Preseason CFN Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year
QB Sam Ehlinger, Jr. Texas
But the right is reserved to quickly pivot in a big, big hurry to Jalen Hurts. Or even Charlie Brewer, Austin Kendall, Brock Purdy, Alan Bowman, Chuba Hubbard, CeeDee Lamb, and on and on and on in a league loaded with amazing talent for the offensive side.
But going into 2019 season, this is Ehlinger’s Big 12. His performance in the Sugar Bowl win over Georgia made that clear, and now he’s the league’s signature figure in a Tebow-like polarizing way.
He’s good enough to handle all of the attention, completing 65% of his passes last season for close to 3,300 yards and 25 touchdowns with just five picks, and he ran for 482 yards and 16 scores.

2018 Preseason CFN Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year
LB Kenneth Murray, Jr.
There was no D in Oklahoma, but that doesn’t mean the Sooner linebacking corps didn’t do what it could to clean up a whole lot of messes. Curtis Bolton came up with 139 tackles, Caleb Kelly made 61 stops, and Kenneth Murray was a machine with a team-high 155 tackles with 4.5 sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss.
Get ready for him to do it all again in a new-look OU defense that should be even more aggressive, better at taking the ball away, and tougher overall. Murray will be at the center of everything.
