PrettyLittleThing shoppers have demanded that ‘real women’ model their clothes after dozens hit back at a new advertising campaign.
The clothing brand released photos from its new Demi Rose Mawby collection - which is the second range connected to the Instagram model.
In a tweet to fans, the firm wrote: “PrettyLittleThing @DemiRoseMawby Edit is here. Get ready to serve up nothing but body-ody-ody.”
But many have criticised the company for not showcasing ‘real bodies’ in its modelling campaigns.
One critic said: “The model is stunning. However, we need women with real bodies please.”
Another wrote: “How are we going to see what the clothes look like on people that aren’t shaped like Demi-Rose.”
A third added: “How many women in real life do you know that looks anything like here? Who exactly are your target audience? Because it can’t be women with actual real bodies.”
In a statement to Manchester Evening News, PrettyLittleThing said that it works a ‘diverse range’ of models.
“PLT is a brand which celebrates all women and body inclusivity”, they said.
“And we are really proud to represent #everyBODYinPLT.
“We work hard to promote this message with a diverse range of talent and influencers.”
