Screen Canberra is bringing to Australia - virtually - the man who produced Hollywood mega-hit Pretty Woman to work with filmmakers, screenwriters and other creatives.

Gary W. Goldstein is also the author of Conquering Hollywood: The Screenwriter's Blueprint for Career Success.

The Oscar-nominated film producer has produced some of Hollywood's biggest box office hits including Pretty Woman, Under Siege, The Mothman Prophecies and cult fan favourite Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death. His films have generated more than $1 billion dollars in worldwide revenue and received multiple awards.

Screen Canberra CEO Monica Penders said the organisation had entered into a collaboration with Goldstein to present an eight-week online program to help local talent break into Hollywood, sell scripts and build a successful career in film.

"We see our partnership with Gary as a step in the right direction to give Australian talent the skills and tactics needed to break away from being a hobby to a passion," she said.

"We know what Australians can do. Hollywood knows what Australians can do. What most people lack is the 'how' and that's what Gary can offer."

Goldstein said Australian talent was in high demand in Hollywood.

"That's why I'm so excited to be partnering with Screen Canberra to work with undiscovered Australian talent just lying in wait," he said.
