Pretty neat: A whisky vending machine is coming to London

Forget the hassle of pouring and serving, you can now get a tipple at the touch of a button.

A whisky vending machine has been installed in front of the Napoleon Hotel, near Liverpool Street Station. It will dispense pouches of Scotch from November 1 until the end of December this year.

From 5pm each day, thirsty customers can purchase operating tokens for £7.95 from the hotel's upstairs bar Devil's Darling, though the machine can be used anytime between 10am and 2am, in line with their licensing.

Scotch from the likes of Macallan, Royal Lochnagar and Aberfeldy will fill the quirky contraption, chosen by Whisky-Me founders Thomas Aske and Tristan Stephenson, who are behind the stunt.

The boozy installation has been put in place to celebrate the first birthday of Whisky-Me, a subscription service which home delivers a double of single malt every month.

From Nov 1, 9 Christopher St, EC2A 2BS, whisky-me.com
