Popular coffee chain Pret has shared its secret chocolate chunk cookie recipe, so you can make it at home.
As plenty of people turn to cooking to pass the time during lockdown, this quick and easy-to-follow recipe is perfect for budding bakers.
What's more, you'll only need a handful of ingredients.
And, if you've done any baking recently chances are you'll already have most of the items at home.
The recipe was originally shared on the Pret Facebook page, where the coffee chain is uploading recipes as part of its new cooking series.
Follow the chocolate chunk cookie recipe below to create your very own Pret-style treats.
Ingredients:
- 110g unsalted butter
- 170g caster sugar
- 85g light brown sugar
- One whole egg
- 190g self-raising flour
- A pinch of salt
- 120g large dark chocolate buttons
Method:
1. Preheat your oven to 180C
2. Melt the butter in the microwave, before beating it together with the sugar. You can do this using a stand mixer or electric beaters – or by hand if you’re willing to sweat.
3. Add the egg and beat for 10-15 seconds.
4. Mix in the flour and salt until you’ve formed a smooth dough.
5. Add the chocolate buttons and combine.
6. Make individual balls of dough and place on a baking tray – make sure you leave enough room between them so they don’t spread into each other.
7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, depending on how gooey you want them.
8. Let them cool for 30 minutes.
