Pret's famous Christmas sandwiches hit the shelves - in July

IT'S (not) CHRIIIIISSSSTMAAAAAS.

Well, not for 172 days anyway. But you can tuck into your favourite Christmas sandwich very, very early this year thanks to the lovely people at Pret.

The sandwich shop chain is jumping on the 'Christmas In July' excitement and making up for all the lost fun, celebration and eating we missed out on last year due to lockdown by selling it's festive classic in the summer.

The Pret Christmas sandwich hits the shelves this week, and Slade's Noddy Holder is helping out with the unseasonal launch.

Clare Clough, Pret's UK managing director, said: "Every year customers ask us for the Christmas sandwich to return earlier and earlier, and after many customers missed out on having one last year we’ve decided to stand by our mission of spreading joy through our food and coffee, and bring our iconic Christmas sandwich back early for a limited time this summer.

"While we can’t change the weather or the football scores this summer, we can help people celebrate and recreate some festive joy by reuniting them with their favourite Christmas sandwich."

The festive favourite contains turkey in a port and orange cranberry sauce with a herby pork stuffing, baby spinach leaves and free-range mayo.

It will be on sale until the first week of August before returning properly in December. You can also get one on Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat.

Noddy will be giving away 100 free sandwiches at the 182 Wardour Street shop from 11am today.

50p from every sandwich sold will be donated to The Pret Foundation, which works to alleviate poverty, hunger and homelessness for the past 25 years.
