Pret coffee subscription: get up to five Pret coffees per day for £20 a month with new service

For those of us in need of a little extra kick, Pret has announced a new ‘coffee subscription’ package.

The deal, similar to services like Netflix and Spotify, will see customers download an app and pay a monthly fee for a constant supply of their favourite beverages.

The service, called YourPret Barista will allow subscribers up to five coffees a day for £20 per month.

The new service means people can get up to 150 coffees a month for just £20 - working out at 13.3p each.

The offer - which could add up to 150 drinks - covers all barista-made coffees as well as teas, hot chocolates, smoothies and frappes.

Even better, the subscription - which officially launched on Tuesday 8 September - will be free to subscribers for the first month.

The move by Pret is an attempt to attract people back to their stores after city-centre footfall plummeted during lockdown.

The firm announced last week it was axing 2,800 jobs and closing around 30 shops.

Pano Christou, chief executive officer of Pret, said its coffee sales have grown faster than its food sales since reopening sites as it continues on the path to recovery.

Christou said: "As people across the UK begin to get back to the things they've missed, our new subscription service is perfect for customers who have been craving one of our barista-prepared drinks.

“Whether you're a coffee enthusiast or tea devotee, we hope this new service helps you start your day strong.

"This is just the first step in our plan to bring Pret to more people.

"We now have the building blocks to establish Pret as a multi-channel, digitally-led business, and YourPret Barista is the first big launch we're able to deliver through our new technology platform.”
