While we all hate plastic bottles, sometimes your reusable bottle has run dry - and so has your mouth, meaning we have to give in before we fall over from dehydration.
So Pret has come up with a very generous solution that will hopefully halt the sale of plastic water bottles even more - free self-service filtered water stations.
Available in Pret stores all over the country, all you need to do is bring your own bottle, and you can fill it up for free - even if you've not bought anything in the store.
In its email, Pret said, "To help reduce the number of plastic bottles being used we’ve introduced self-service filtered water stations (otherwise known as water fountains) in 250 of our shops.
We welcome everyone – not just Pret customers – to come in and fill up for free. If each of our water stations is used just 10 times a day, we could save well over a million plastic bottles a year.
The news was announced by Pret via email today to its newsletter subscribers, with bargain hunters on deals forum hotukdeals then swiftly sharing the news.
To help you find your closest filtered water point, every Pret shop in the UK is now listed on the Refill app - a location-based app that shows you where you can fill up your water bottle for free, whether that's at a Pret or anywhere else.
You can get the Refill app on either the Apple store or the Play store , and if you forget your bottle, Pret also sell their own fancy-looking metal ones for £20 a pop. Just try remember it next time you leave the house...
