Preston Street: Children told to self-isolate after coronavirus case is confirmed

A number of pupils are now self-isolating at an Edinburgh primary school after a positive coronavirus case was confirmed.

NHS Lothian have issued advice to parents after someone tested positive for Covid-19 at Preston Street school.

Children who have been in direct contact with the case are now self-isolating for 14 days.

However, the school remains open at present, with parents encouraged to send their child to school if they remain well.

Any individual who is displaying symptoms of the virus has been instructed to book a coronavirus test and not attend school.

In recent weeks, a series of schools across Edinburgh and the Lothians have confirmed cases of the virus, including Firhill High School and Gilmerton primary.
