Never before have the Green Bay Packers had a pair of sackers as prolific through the first six games of a season as Preston Smith and Za’Darius Smith.
According to the team, the two Smiths are the first pair of players in Packers history to each register at least 6.0 sacks in the first six games of a season since the NFL started tracking sacks in 1982.
Preston Smith produced 1.5 more sacks on Monday night against the Detroit Lions, pushing his season total to 7.0. Za’Darius Smith added another, giving him 6.0 sacks in 2019.
Together, the Smiths have 13.0 sacks in six games. They are on pace for almost 35.0 sacks this season.

Both Smiths are on pace to set new career-highs in sacks. In fact, if both continue their current paces, they’ll both doublet their previous highs. Preston Smith is on pace for almost 19.0 sacks; his career-high is 8.0. Za’Darius Smith is on pace for 16.0 sacks; his career-high is 8.5.
