Preston North End supporters taunt Derby County - and Nottingham Forest fans will love it

Preston North End fans delivered a short, but cutting, message to Derby County supporters yesterday.

Alex Neil's side were visiting Pride Park for a Championship clash, which they lost 1-0 thanks to a first-half effort from Martyn Waghorn.

It was Derby's first game since the defeat to Nottingham Forest before the international break, with that match also ending 1-0 with Lewis Grabban capitalising on a stray pass from Jayden Bogle to make himself the hero in front of the Trent End.

That was Forest's third consecutive win over Derby in all competitions and already their second this season after a 3-0 pasting of Phillip Cocu's side in the Carabao Cup second round tie at the City Ground in August.

In fact, Derby haven't beaten Forest since October 2017, when Matej Vydra and David Nugent were on the scoresheet in a 2-0 success under Gary Rowett.

Given Forest are six places and five points better off than Derby , the Nottingham side of the A52 are enjoying themselves this season.

And Preston, who packed out the south-east corner of Pride Park, taunted Rams fans about their struggles against Forest, chanting "Nottingham Forest, they're better than you," at the home support.

Forest fans, unsurprisingly, loved it.

Here's what they had to say on social media...

@JamieBriody: Always liked Preston.

@Richwilteamsky: Hahhahahaha this is amazing !

@GazThomas11: This is brilliant respect to Preston

@Grandadred19663: Class one

@crateemilie: made my day
