Preston North End and Alex Neil could welcome back key player from injury vs Nottingham Forest

Preston North End could welcome top scorer Scott Sinclair back from injury in today’s Championship clash vs Nottingham Forest.

The 31-year-old has seven Championship goals so far this season as well as three assists to his name.

He was however forced to sit out Preston’s last game vs Coventry due to injury. Despite Sinclair’s absence, the Lilywhites came out as 2-0 winners.

“It's not a significant thing. We will assess time today and I expect him to train tomorrow,” Preston boss Alex Neil said on Sinclair ahead of the game at Deepdale.

But it’s not all good news for Preston on the injury front, with Neil expected to be without five other players for the clash.

Captain Alan Browne left the pitch just after half-time vs Coventry due to injury, with the club confirming he will be assessed ahead of the Forest game.

Preston have also confirmed that Neil will be without midfielders Ben Pearson along with forwards Louis Moult and Billy Bodin and defender Patrick Bauer for the encounter due to injury.

Forest travel to Deepdale having slipped into the bottom three places in the Championship after Friday night’s results.

The Reds themselves have been given an injury boost with Luke Freeman and Jack Colback the only two absentees for Chris Hughton.

That means defender Scott Mckenna is closing in on a return after missing the last six games through injury.
