Preston man makes a meal of Nottingham Forest spat with 'Dream Dinner Party' riposte

Footage from Nottingham Forest's 3-0 win at Preston earlier this month showed Reds striker Lyle Taylor in mock tears at opposition defender Jordan Storey. Now he has explained his actions in a football podcast.

The incident did the rounds on social media post-match after Taylor posted a photo on Instagram captioned: "We won 3-0 and I made a new friend."

Taylor explained that his faux crying was prompted by the countless times Storey had complained to the referee about apparently being stepped on by the Forest man.

Storey kept quiet about the incident until Preston's recent home game against Fulham, when he got his revenge.

Storey was the subject of a feature in Preston's official matchday programme entitled "Dream Dinner Party", and guess who was amongst the five "guests" he could select?

The 31-year-old Forest forward was "joined" by boxers Tyson Fury and Mike Tyson, environmentalist Sir David Attenborough and Borat actor Sacha Baron Cohen.

Explaining Taylor's inclusion, the Preston man joked: "He was my idol growing up and a true legend of the game."

No doubt more tears will now be shed when Forest and Preston meet again, a midweek clash at Deepdale scheduled for Tuesday, February 22 (7.45pm).
