Preston fans brilliant reaction to drawing Manchester City in Carabao Cup

Reigning Carabao Cup champions Manchester City will start their defence of the trophy against Championship side Preston North End.

The two sides haven't played each other since 2007 when City won an FA Cup tie 3-1 with goals from Michael Ball and Stephen Ireland cancelling out David Nugent's opener.

However, City's record against Preston isn't the best - winning just 41 of their 93 games against the Lilywhites.

Pep Guardiola is looking to win the trophy for the third season in succession but may use the competition to give youngsters such as Phil Foden and Eric Garcia the chance to impress.

Despite being handed one of the toughest draws available, many Preston fans have expressed their delight at playing the Citizens, taking to social media to make their feelings known.
