Alex Neil has questioned Matt Le Tissier's claim that Preston and Nottingham Forest would be no match for Brentford in the Championship play-offs.
The Bees won rave reviews for their victory over Derby County yesterday as they secured a sixth successive win since football restarted by securing a 3-1 win at the Reds' arch rivals.
Thomas Frank's side are being now tipped to secure promotion to the Premier League as a result of their excellent form.
But speaking after Preston's 1-1 draw with Forest yesterday, Neil said he had seen pundit Le Tissier claim on Sky Sports that the Reds and the Lilywhites would be swept aside by the Bees.
And yet that is despite both sides beating Brentford this season.
He said: “I’ve just seen Matt Le Tissier talking on the telly about how we would be no match for Brentford, and neither would Forest.
"Well, we’ve played three games - Forest beat them twice and we beat them, so that’s interesting.”
Sabri Lamouchi's side secured 1-0 wins over Brentford both home and away this season.
Preston also beat the Bees 2-0 at Deepdale last September.
