Pressure grows on Thomas Tuchel as he turns on PSG stars after latest defeat

The heat is on Thomas Tuchel after he turn on his Paris Saint-Germain players after their latest failed attempt to win the French title.

The big-spenders lost 3-2 to Nantes, the third game in a row they blew the chance to seal the championship.

PSG went down 5-1 to Lille on Sunday and fans are worried by the mental state of their players with only a one point return from their last three games.

Tuchel was supposed to have signed his new contract a week ago but there have been no developments on the deal.

He is set to get a pay rise - even though they had another year to forget in the Champions League.

Tuchel's team had gone ahead through Dani Alves but he refused to back his players after their latest dreadful display.

"In Lille we controlled the game during 60 minutes, many players were injured," he said.

"It was a game with a Champions League level. It was different.

"Today, we didn't perform in 90 minutes. There was no performance, no performance at all. So it was impossible to win.

"We can lose, we can do mistakes, and we [the club] will always defend players if they play with a good mentality, with desire and as a team.

"They have a fantastic set of fans, a lovely stadium. But we must play with more personality.

"That is one of our weaknesses I think, we are going to have to quickly fix that.

"We cannot go over the top either, people are going to talk about the club, I don’t know what else.

"Today we played like amateurs. We need to re-focus, there is a match on Wednesday, but I think we need to stop losing like that.”

But the 20-year-old won't be signing for Real Madrid this summer, with his his dad Wilfried Mbappe slamming the constant speculation as "embarrassing".
