Presnel Kimpembe jokes about Paul Pogba to Paris Saint-Germain transfer suggestion

Presnel Kimpembe has laughed off the suggestion he is using the European Championship as an opportunity to convince Paul Pogba to join him at Paris Saint-Germain.

Pogba, 28, is entering the final year of his current deal with Manchester United and would be free to negotiate a contract with a European side from the New Year.

Last week Kimpembe and Kingsley Coman pranked Pogba at a media briefing when they asked the United midfielder about a possible move to PSG in the future.

Pogba took stock of the situation and replied: "No!" before fleeing the scene to a chorus of laughter from his colleagues.

Now international teammate Kimpembe has lifted the lid on the mood in the French camp and insisted there has been no talk of transfer rumours from any of the players.

"I didn't discuss it with him," Kimpembe insisted during a press conference. "He's a big boy, he doesn't need anyone to make up his mind. Any club would be happy to welcome him.

"It only depends on him, his agent and his future club."

Pogba could well hold the key to any success for France at the European Championship this summer and Kimpembe believes the United man is one of the strongest leaders in the dressing room.

He added: "We also know his talent as a natural leader. When we have to speak, he is not going to say govern, he does so naturally.

"He always speaks at the right times."

France begin their Euro 2020 campaign when they face Germany in Munich on Tuesday.
